Find out what you believe you can do and stick with it as a career

1.    Believe You Can And Nothing Can Stop You

Every career starts and ends with what a person believes and does not believe they can do, as Henry Ford’s quote notes, “If you believe you can do a thing, or if you believe you cannot, in either case you are probably right.”

I will take on the discussion from here: I am writing this piece to you as well as to myself. Do you believe you can become one of the finest salespersons in your generation? If you believe, fine, this whole exercise of sharing daily lessons from Brian Tracy’s Advanced Selling Strategies, is meant to make that happen in your life. If you believe the contrary, then it is up to you to find out what you believe you can do and stick with it as a career.

This writing exercise is principally for anyone who believes he can succeed in sales. I believe I can succeed in sales. And I have known something worthy of note about sales, and that is, “People have always sold. People sell. People will always sell.” If you have this at the back of your mind, you will see that you are not the only one who has ever found selling to be challenging.

Every successful salesperson in history had a similar encounter with the challenges of selling but learnt to overcome those challenges. If you experience sales challenges today it is because you are doing something that isn’t yet able to help you close sales as desired daily. You have to learn how to make it start happening. If you don’t learn it, you will never know it, and if you don’t know it, you will always experience the challenges of sales. The converse is the case also.

Learning how to be a fine salesperson is very much a necessity for you at this point of your sales career, because it will save you time for much explanations to excuse your failures in the future. There are those who will get it right when you are getting it wrong. You could have been on the side of those who are getting it right. But first, believe you will get it right when you try and try to be better at selling again and again.

In sales, there is no giving up; because, people are in need of what you are trying to sell. You only need to know how to make them buy yours instead of buying your neighbors’ all the time. There are many ways of making people buy what you are selling, these are the things you will learn as you take out a few minutes daily to stay poised on every new post coming your way from the Advanced Selling Strategies.

The next post will take you a step further in your sales career.

To your sales career success,
